  • Do you allow outside caterers?
    We don't provide food and drinks because we like you to be free at your budget to BYOC (bring your own caterer). However, your selected caterer must be pre-approved by us by providing proof of both license and insurance no less than 14 days prior to the event. If you or your vendor's equipment is used, it MUST be removed by the end of the event.
  • What are your rules regarding Alcohol?
    Alcohol may be served ONLY to persons age 21 or older under the terms and conditions consistent with the applicable laws of the State of Texas. Both the host and all guest must abide by our venue rules listed in the contract. NO SALE OF ALCOHOL OR FOOD IS ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES.
  • Are you pet-friendly?
    For the comfort, safety, and health of all our guests, Studio 1928 maintains a strict no-pet policy within our facilities and surrounding premises. This policy complies with Texas Health and Safety Code regulations regarding food service and event venues, while also ensuring proper venue maintenance and cleanliness standards. We gladly welcome and accommodate service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals must be properly identified and remain under handler control at all times. Emotional support animals, therapy animals, and comfort animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and are therefore not permitted. Any cleaning or repairs required due to unauthorized animals will result in additional charges and possible forfeiture of security deposit. This policy helps us maintain our pristine venue conditions and ensure an allergen-controlled environment for all guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
  • When is the final balance due?
    Final balance payment is due in full 30 days prior to your scheduled event date. For reservations made within 30 days of the event date, payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your date. Payments must be made through our approved payment methods as outlined in your contract. Failure to submit final payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your event and forfeiture of any deposits or prior payments. All payment deadlines are strictly enforced. Studio 1928 accepts credit cards, ACH payments, and certified cashier's checks. Personal checks are not accepted for final payments. A $50 fee will be assessed for any returned or declined payments. Payment plans may be available upon request for events booked more than 6 months in advance, subject to approval and additional terms. Please note: Your event date is not guaranteed until both the signed contract and appropriate payment have been received and processed by Studio 1928.
  • What is required to reserve Studio 1928 for your selected date?
    Securing Your Date at Studio 1928: Initial Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 35% of your total invoice is required to secure your event date Second Payment: A minimum payment of 25% of the total invoice is required within 60 days of booking Final Balance: All remaining charges, including any additional services or décor options, must be paid in full 30 days prior to your event date Please Note: Your event date is not guaranteed until both the signed contract and initial deposit have been received and processed Additional services or décor additions requested after the final payment will require immediate payment in full Any unpaid balance 30 days before your event may result in cancellation and forfeiture of all prior payments All payment deadlines are strictly enforced Payment modifications must be approved in writing by Studio 1928 management A revised invoice will be issued after all final selections and adjustments are confirmed Late fees of 5% will be assessed on any overdue payments Studio 1928 accepts all major credit cards, ACH transfers, and cashier's checks. Personal checks are only accepted for payments made 60 days or more before your event date.
  • Do you have onsite parking?
    Studio 1928 offers complimentary on-site parking for your event guests. Our lot accommodates approximately 100 vehicles. While parking is typically sufficient for most events, we recommend the following for optimal guest experience: Encourage carpooling for large events Inform guests that parking is first-come, first-served Consider ride-share services for evening events Please Note: Studio 1928 is not responsible for any damage, theft, or loss of vehicles or contents Overnight parking is not permitted; vehicles must be removed within 1 hour of event conclusion Handicap spaces are available and must remain accessible Blocking fire lanes or emergency exits is prohibited and may result in towing at owner's expense Valet services are not provided but can be arranged through our preferred vendors list For events exceeding 200 guests, please consult with our event coordinator about additional parking arrangements.
  • How much is additional time?
    Your contracted rental period includes ALL vendors' setup, decoration, catering preparation, event time, and complete cleanup. To protect your security deposit, please ensure: All vendors, décor items, and guests must exit by your contracted end time Setup begins precisely at your contracted start time - early access is not guaranteed All cleanup and vendor breakdown must be completed within your rental period Final walk-through with Studio 1928 staff is required before departure (may be conducted via Studio 1928 Videoconference) Additional Time: Extended hours may be purchased at $300 per hour if available Additional time must be secured and paid for at least 72 hours before your event Last-minute time extensions are subject to $375 per hour if available Extended hours are not guaranteed and depend on venue availability Overtime fees of $400 per hour will be automatically deducted from your security deposit for any time used beyond your contracted end time Please Note: Time management is the client's responsibility We recommend designating a timeline coordinator Events must end by 12:00 AM per local ordinance Failure to vacate at contracted time impacts other events and will incur fees Contact your event coordinator for a detailed setup/breakdown timeline
  • What is the cut off time, to clean and depart from the venue?
    STRICT VENUE CLOSURE POLICY - Per McKinney City Ordinance: Studio 1928 must be fully vacated by 1:00 AM (Midnight) without exception. This includes: All guests must depart by 12:30 PM All vendors must complete breakdown and exit by 12:45 AM All music/entertainment must end by 12:00 AM Final venue inspection must be completed by 12:45 AM Important Compliance Notes: Events exceeding these time restrictions will incur: Automatic forfeiture of security deposit Additional fees of $250 per 15-minute increment Possible intervention by local authorities Violation may affect future McKinney event permits Security staff will begin event shutdown procedures at 11:00 PM Police notification may be required for non-compliance Studio 1928 strictly enforces these ordinances to maintain our venue license and positive relationship with local authorities and neighbors. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring all events conclude timely and safely.
  • On what days can the Studio be used for Content Creation?
    We have designated content creation session to only be booked during the hours of 8:00AM EST to 4:00PM EST on Mondays - Thursdays. There is a 2 hour minimum requirement in order to book the studio. Please put in a request for consideration of time and day slots outside of these designated studio hours.
  • What types of content can I create in the studio?
    PERMITTED CONTENT CREATION ACTIVITIES Studio 1928 welcomes professional content creators for: Commercial photography Brand videography Professional portraits Product photography Podcasting/streaming Social media content Corporate communications Fashion/modeling portfolios (professional attire required) Content Restrictions: Studio 1928 strictly prohibits: Adult or sexually explicit content Content involving nudity Illegal or illicit activities Content promoting hate speech or discrimination Violent or graphic content Any activities that could damage our reputation or brand Content violating intellectual property rights Activities violating local, state, or federal laws Additional Requirements: All content creation must align with our family-friendly values Content purpose must be disclosed at booking Studio 1928 reserves the right to: Review content concepts prior to booking Terminate sessions violating our policies Retain security deposit for policy violations Report illegal activities to authorities Refuse service at our discretion Violation of these policies will result in immediate session termination, forfeiture of all payments, and possible legal action. Studio 1928 maintains a zero-tolerance policy for prohibited content.
  • What equipment is available at the studio?
    We offer a range of high-quality equipment, including professional lighting kits, backdrops, microphones, and accessory gear. If you need specific equipment, please let us know in advance so we can advise if accommodation will be possible and ready for your session.
  • How big is the studio, and how many people can it accommodate?
    The studio is approximately 4,300+ Sq Ft of usable space. Our studio has a capacity of 300 people standing and 250 seated. There is ample space for production teams, models, and additional crew members. More than 20 people will be charged as an event.
  • Can I rent the studio for long-term projects?

  • Is there a clean-up fee?
    VENUE CLEANING REQUIREMENTS Studio 1928 maintains pristine facility conditions. To ensure return of your security deposit, ALL events and packages (EXCLUDING the MYSTIQUE package) require the following minimum cleanup procedures: Required Client/Vendor Responsibilities: Basic sweep of floors (brooms provided) Immediate clean-up of spills and stains All trash properly bagged and placed in designated waste area Complete removal of: All decorations including tape/adhesives Vendor equipment/supplies Personal items Leftover food/beverages Floral arrangements/centerpieces Rental items not belonging to Studio 1928 Time Management: All cleanup must be completed within your rental period Non-Studio 1928 decor, and rental items must be removed before final departure time. Any items left beyond contracted departure time may result in partial or full forfetiure of security deposit Studio 1928 is not responsible for any Items left beyond contract end time Security Deposit Deductions: The following will result in partial or full forfeiture: Excessive cleaning required Stains or damage to floors/walls Adhesive residue Items left behind Improper waste disposal Cleanup extending beyond rental period Full deduction list provided in rental agreement Studio 1928 will assess cleaning charges at $200/hour with a 2-hour minimum for any cleanup requirements beyond standard expectations.
